First Supervisorial District - Square Footage - Building 28,514. Established 1974. 4 full-time, permanent staff and 1 temporary worker.

 

Staff provides outreach services and networks with community agencies on collaborative projects. Staff also provides assistance with information, referral and general human services, bilingual capability, forms interpretation assistance, emergency food baskets, and senior citizens programs.

 

LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND SENIOR CITIZENS SERVICES/AREA ON AGING AGENCY

Provides information and referral, legal services, job placement for seniors, renters credit information, Social Security and SSI information, RTD passes.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS

QUEEN OF ANGELS CARE FAMILY CLINIC

Provides primary health care services consisting of preventive and general medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general minor surgery, health education and nutrition counseling. Services provided are low costs on a sliding fee scale basis, based on family size income and ability to pay.

CASA MARAVILLA INC. NUTRITION PROGRAM
Provides a nutritionally sound hot meal (lunch) to senior citizens Monday through Friday.

Provides preschool educational experience to children and mothers from low-income families.

Provides a day care center for children from 2 years 9 months to 5 years with working parents. Hot meals for children on site and educational experience.

Provides youth with education and awareness presentations, photography workshops, career awareness, group recreational activities, field trips, discussion groups/rap sessions and youth advocacy bureau.

CITIZENSHIP ASSISTANCE CAMPAIGN-COMMUNITY AND SENIOR SERVICES OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY

Countywide Citizenship Assistance Campaign to naturalize approximately 450,000 community residents who are scheduled to lose their SSI, AFDC, Food Stamps, and/or HISS benefits as a result of the current Welfare Reform Act.
